Position Description
The Director of Youth Fellowship’s will develop and grow a comprehensive and effective youth fellowship program with the help of the Youth Fellowship Committee, volunteers from the church, and a staff team that includes the Director of Music Ministry, the Director of Education for Children and Youth, and the Associate Pastor for Faith Formation. Duties include:
- Fellowship programming for 3-12th graders (Tweens, Middle-School, and Senior High);
- Directing and coordinating youth work camp events;
- Directing and coordinating special projects during the year; supporting fund raising activities and youth service projects;
- Directing and coordinating youth mission trips and local ministry and mission opportunities;
- Providing direction, leadership and support to youth advisors and youth officers, including recruiting youth advisors and committing to their training and effective program and relationship development;
- Building relationships with youth; being involved in their activities outside of church; encouraging relationships between youth; know the youth and be available as a listener, create lasting relationships with the youth through sharing in small and large group activities with the message of faith and finding opportunities to develop the leadership capabilities of youth.

The Director of Youth Fellowships should possess the following characteristics:
- An ability to work with and relate to youth from 3rd through 12th grade;
- A personal relationship with Jesus Christ;
- Integrity, honesty, authenticity, and enthusiasm, with a sense of humor;
- Experience in training and leading volunteers;
- At least a bachelor’s degree with preference for coursework in youth ministry, theology, psychology, education or other related fields;
- A love of kids;
- Excellent communication skills, including through the use of technology, with youth and the congregation;
- A caring individual who has fun, listens, shares, and teaches as a youth director;
- A motivational person, encouraging, inspiring and supportive of youth, their parents and adult volunteers;
- A self starter;
- Concerned about the safety of youth;
- Comfortable with a leadership role in worship.
